Playing The Game or To Thine Own Self Be True

Shakespeare said it. To Thine Own Self Be True. Hamlet if I recall.

This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man

Or any woman?

Dishonesty is a game played cleverly by those in power especially when they fear losing what they have. Liars abound. I have met many liars. And I look at these people and wonder why they can’t just be honest. ~Then I remember that quote above. One supposes that a lot of people get where they are by flanneling because that is what they learned as siblings: to stay on top requires endless game-playing.

Psychotherapists have moved from believing that parents are the root of all our psychological problems to blaming it all on sibling rivalry. That families are or can be dysfunctional in other ways.

We live in a complicated world. Everything seems to end in a ‘cluster-fuck’. Wherever we turn, a mindless act brings on chaos and doubt becomes a part of our existence.

Interestingly when debating online with Amnesty Scotland and the SNP, Amnesty stated, a few times, that we can not believe everything we see and hear, that sources are important and that propaganda across social media is dangerous.

So what now? Is everything a lie? Know this. Lies are told out of fear. Stick to your own inner truth. All agents know this. HQ teaches this: the voice in your own head is the truth. let it guide you.

Is this part of a story? Wait and see.
